PowerFLARM Core is a remotely mounted box intended for installation in certified aircraft. It is installed as a Minor Change (MCA), normally behind the panel in light aircraft or in the E&E Compartment in large aircraft. The box is then connected to a FLARM Compatible display, which is installed in the instrument panel. There are also moving map systems (EFIS/MFD) that support the FLARM protocol.
PowerFLARM Portable is a portable device (PED), intended primarily to be carried by pilots who fly different aircraft which do not yet have FLARM installed. It has an integrated display and uses internal batteries and antennas. It is not primarily intended to be installed, even if an installation is also possible. It can be run on external power, in addition to the batteries.
For most aircraft, we recommend the PowerFLARM Core ADS-B model, with the Air Traffic display from Air Avionics.
